GLBTQ Counselling.

I have worked at Qmunity (BC’s Queer Resource Centre) for several years as a counsellor where I have provided individual and couples counselling to the GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Tansgender, Queer / Questioning) community. I offer counselling services in a safe, confidential environment. I have experience supporting clients with a wide variety of issues, including the following:

  • Coming out
  • Relationship conflict
  • Negotiating monogamy / open relationships / polyamory
  • Questioning your sexual or gender identity
  • A family members sexual or gender identity has come to your attention
  • Marriage transitions
  • Experiencing discrimination / homophobia
  • Abusive relationships

I also provide counselling to address Depression, Anxiety and Addiction concerns which are found in significant numbers in the GLBTQ community.  While these concerns are not exclusive to our community, there are unique aspects of these problems for GLBTQ people.   I am experienced at working with these issues.

Questioning / Coming out?

I have faciltated coming out groups in Vancouver for several years for those trying to find comfort with or questioning their sexual identity. As well, family members and friends of GLBTQ people sometimes need someone to help guide them through the experience.
